EXPERIENCE

 Research

 Research Assistant: Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience, Rutgers University, Newark, NJ, September 2003 – present

  • Designed a digitized rendering of the male Wistar rat brain at the 150 um resolution level for the purpose of demonstrating future technological advancement in neuron mapping within the basal forebrain.  Other digitized experiments and comparisons were also demonstrated within this grant proposal.
  • Mapped and compared the overlapping relationship between certain motor and somatosensory areas within the barrel field cortex of the male Wistar rat, in conjunction with Penn State Medical School at Hershey, PA.
  • Prepared brain tissue samples with Immunohistochemisty techniques for data analyzation.

 

 Clinical

 Physician Shadowing:  The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School – Cooper Health Hospital, Camden, NJ, January 2002

  • Researched case study in patients with heart disease with the chief of the cardiac cathode lab
  • Was a guest in the operating room for multiple patients’ open heart surgeries
  • Spent time discussing the aspects, education, and lifepath of current physicians

 Teaching

 Teaching Assistant:  Department of Biology, Rutgers University, Newark, NJ, September 2002- May 2003

  • Advised and instructed undergraduate General Biology lab students during lab
  • Evaluated students ability to comprehend the lab using quizzes at the end of lab
